Hallo Ihr Lieben,
Here we are at the end of another month. I’m stealing a few minutes of time to get this round-up out to you in the proper amount of time. This month has been a busy one for me with school. This is the last week of Spring Session I classes for me, and I’m getting closer and closer to graduation. I ordered my cap and gown and reserved tickets for the ceremony. The other day I received a text alerting me that it’s only 70 days to graduation. But who’s counting? Truthfully, I’m a bit in disbelief that the time has come, and I’m this much closer to receiving my BA in Communication and Media. Next week is “Spring Break” for me, and then session II begins. Three more courses…
We finished cheer season at the beginning of the month, and Ally’s now knee-deep in rehearsals for the school musical (Mamma Mia). She’s also helping out as a stage manager with a musical (Les Mis) outside of school. She’s keeping busy as usual and, in turn, keeping me busy. :)
Throw in some doctor and dentist appointments and other general stuff, and the month gets filled up. I’m not one to constantly be on the go and I try to get some quiet time in, where I can - just put up my feet and relax.
I also did some cooking and baking and am currently on a mission to make the “perfect” poundcake. I’m trying to replicate one we bought at the Fresh Market that we all reallyyyyyy enjoyed. I’ve come up with some tasty treats, but no luck on the exact one.
Thank you all for reading and supporting this newsletter. Hope February went well for you!
And now, without further ado - the round-up of all the things. :)
What book(s) I read…
After finishing Beyond the Wall at the beginning of the month, I decided I needed a little palate cleanser. I read the poignant short story Two Women Walk Into A Bar by Cheryl Strayed and followed that up with something light-hearted and romantic by finishing this trilogy by Lucy Score.
What I watched…
Ally dragged (not really) me to the movies to see Boys in the Boat with Callum Turner, who also happens to star in the Apple TV+ show Masters of the Air. The movie was interesting and heart-warming, and we both enjoyed it. Masters of the Air is our current “family” show. We have shed tears during more than one episode. It’s not easy watching, and it brings home some of the horrors of World War II. Expats is a show I enjoyed by myself. I had read about it, and it intrigued me. I finished it pretty quickly; definitely a good one to binge-watch. Ally and I started One Day on Netflix a few days ago to take a break from Suits, and we are almost finished. The episodes a short and move the story along. I cannot wait to find out how it ends.
What I’m listening to…
I needed a little break from all things Tay Tay and recently listened to The Struts while cooking and baking. Nothing perks me up and makes me want to dance more than their music (lately).

I am loving Masters of the Air -- such incredible writing, casting, cinematography. It's art. And it talks about the realities of a time that has come to be romanticized in some ways. I look forward to watching every Friday. Hope you and yours are well!
