Monthly Digest | August 2025
August things...
Hello friends,
Snapshots of August:
Back to school for both Ally and me.
Lots of yummy food.
Date nights with hubby.
Beer and wing tasting with friends.
Ash subbing and working at the front office at “our” school.
A quick weekend getaway to Key West.
Key West sunsets.
Ash and hubby looking fancy for a bar mitzvah.
Getting in as many swims as I can before the pool gets too cold.
August was not a month for any “fun” reading. I read two educational books by Catlin Tucker and Katie Novak, one about using AI in educational design and one about how to add writing to any subject’s curriculum. Both books are interesting and helpful in my teaching journey, but I wouldn’t call them fun exactly.
I also read The Crucible by Arthur Miller to prepare for one of my English classes. I enjoyed it and like teaching it so far. It’s definitely a perk of teaching English now that I get to read all of these “classics” that have been on my reading list for so long, but were always pushed aside for something more fun or new.
Ash and I started watching Sullivan’s Crossing, and we are hooked. So far, we’ve made it through season 1. I was happy to hear that it was just renewed for a 4th season. Looking forward to diving into season 2 soon.
I also watched the first episode of Hunting Wives (oh my) and can’t wait to continue with the show. I’m waiting for Ally to catch up so we can watch it together. But we’ll see about that - if she takes too long, I may just continue on my own.
I finally took some time to listen to the new Jonas Brothers album this weekend. Jury’s still out, but I do like the song Love Me To Heaven and have been enjoying the TikToks people have been making with part of the song Backwards. I’m always amazed by people’s creativity.
Thanks, as always, for checking out my monthly digest — it truly means so much to me! If you feel inspired, I’d love for you to comment or tap that little heart; it lets me know you're here and enjoying the conversation. ☕️
Thanks a million,
