Thanks for sharing your walk with us! Those are beautiful photos and I can imagine took some time and quiet breathing to capture stillness in such busy creatures. I love seeing birds, like your anhinga, when they stretch their wings to sun; it seems like such a relatable activity to this sun-lover!
So beautiful, Susi - these gorgeous wetland creatures all look so exotic! My favourite picture is of the whip-poor-will - what a cutie! We don't have those over here in UK. I recognise some of the birds, though - the anhinga looks like a cormorant - I wonder if they're related? We have the latter here, but not the former.
The anhinga and cormorant are very similar but a cormorant has a little hook at the end of its beak where the anhinga has a straight pointy one. I almost didn't see the whip-poor-will but a lovely lady out walking pointed him out to me. No matter how many times I've gone to the wetlands - there's always something new to see.

It was certainly a beautiful day for stretching toward the sun. :)
The tension in my shoulders released as soon as I saw the first photo; thanks for sharing, Susi!
So glad! It was a tension release for me being out there and walking. :)
